Explorers Outpost
GRADES K4 - 5th [grouped by grade]
MON-FRI | 8AM-3PM
Explorers Outpost, students will navigate through a day designed by artists and educators. Their multifaceted days will be focused on
the three E’s:
eLearning,
EXPLORATION,
Enrichment
Programming includes daily enrichment activities in the fine arts, culinary arts, engineering & math, and sciences as well as plenty of opportunities for pure fun and exercise, exploration, and outdoor play. Each day, students will complete their virtual classwork and attend virtual school inside their Museum School classroom.
eLeArning
World Explorers will provide:
Technical assistance: We will help children navigate their technology and log into any virtual programs needed.
Learning Space: Students will have an area with internet connection, outlets and access to supplies.
Group guided assistance: Students will be assisted in connecting with their virtual eLearning SCDOE teacher for the times required by their grade, school, and enrolled program. Counselors will monitor our explorers in a group setting as they engage with their eLearning teachers. The team will offer immediate assistance when needed, relay information to parents regarding their classwork, and supervise their virtual eLearning participation.
Project supplies: Explorers will provide classroom materials to complete homework assignments or special projects. We have you covered and will provide items needed in a classroom setting.

Back to school supplies requested by teachers - In an effort to avoid sharing, we ask that each guardian provide high touch materials such as pencils, notebooks, scissors, rulers, crayons, etc. Each student will have a storage area to hold their personal supplies.

Inventor’s Workshop: Ready, set, invent! Create new worlds by exploring structures, mechanics and inventions.
Artworks: The world is your palette. Discover traditional arts and crafts techniques through the exploration of materials and process, all while developing an appreciation for art around the world.
Book Adventures: Let your imagination be your guide as you develop your reading, writing, and performance skills through global myths, folktales and legends.
Global Kitchen: Learn about foods around the world, importance of food culture, manners, and etiquette! Explore a culture through one of its most social activities---eating!
During our Globetrotters program, we travel the globe through an interdisciplinary study of countries and cultures around the world. Through hands-on activities, lessons, and discovery classes, we teach our explorers to discover their global community. As a result of this experience, our students relate back to their own culture and heritage to discover what makes them a unique and valued global citizen.
